Steve was appointed to the KPA as a magistrate member in 2005 and became an Independent member in October 2008. He was elected Chair of the Audit & Governance Committee in July 2006 a position to which he was re-elected in June 2008.

His 35-year career in banking was primarily in corporate lending, although latterly he was an Area Manager. He retired in 1998 from the position of Area Manager in Maidstone & Medway.

Steve was a magistrate from 1999 to October 2008, serving on the East Kent bench, and was a Member of Kent Probation Board from August 2004 to August 2007.

In the early 90’s he was Vice-Chair and Deputy Director of Folkestone Samaritans and was on the board of Shepway Enterprise Agency.
