Steve Hiscock is an Independent member appointed in October 2008.
He is a retired Diplomat having served in the Civil Service for 43 years in the UK, Malaysia, Zambia, Pakistan, Korea, Guyana, Thailand and Afghanistan. Originally from Plymouth, where he joined the Inland Revenue in 1963, he was promoted to the Foreign Office in 1965 and moved to London. The family moved their family home to Kent in 1996 finally settling here just over two years ago on retirement as the British High Commissioner to Guyana.
He is a Director (on behalf of the Guyana Boxing Board of Control) of the Commonwealth Boxing Council Ltd., is a Governor of Bethany School in Goudhurst and continues to undertake some consultancy work for the FCO on a part-time basis.
