Paulina Stockell

Paulina was appointed to Kent Police Authority in July 2009.

Paulina has lived in Kent all her life. She attended Thanet School of Art and graduated from Canterbury College of Art, Kent University and Christchurch University College. She and her family have lived in rural Maidstone for over 40 years where she worked as a secondary school teacher.

She has been a local school Governor for more than twenty years. As a borough councillor for nineteen years she has tried to ensure that Maidstone remains an economically vibrant, attractive and safe County Town. She was elected the Mayor of Maidstone in 2001.

Paulina has represented Maidstone Rural West at Kent County Council for over eight years and during that time has seen Kent County Council become one of the top performing county councils in the country.

She has been the Lead Member and deputy to two cabinet members and chairman of a number of committees, including the Maidstone Local Board. She has chaired public meetings on a number of issues of concern and has assisted numerous parents with education appeals for school places and transport.

In May 2011 Paulina was appointed Chair of Kent County Council.
