Dr Roger Smith was appointed to the KPA as an independent member in April 2007.

Roger was born in Rochester and has worked within Local Government for a number of years. This includes the Kent County Council, working to introduce Local Management into schools.

In 2000 Roger took on the role as Chief Education Officer and Strategic Director for Southwark Council. 

Roger has also worked with Crime Reduction Partnerships and was a member of the London Youth Crime Strategy Task Group.
