Andrew Wickham

Mr Mark Andrew Wickham J.P (Andrew) was elected to the County Council in June 2009 as the Conservative Member for Ashford Rural East.

He is a qualified Rural Practice Chartered Surveyor and successfully ran The Weald Smokery for 17 years employing 15 people. He has been a soldier in the Territorial Army and a retained fire-fighter.

Mr Wickham has served as a Borough Council, and was the member of Ashford Borough Council for Weald Central between 2003 - 2007. He also serves as a Parish Councillor in Pluckley. He is currently a Justice of the Peace (JP) and the Vice-Chairman of Kent Crimestoppers. He is on the council of the Weald of Kent Protection Society WKPS.

He is the Deputy Cabinet Member for Regeneration & Economic Development, and serves on the following Kent County Council committees: Children, Families and Education (CFE) Portfolio, Learning and Development and Communities.

He lists his interests as skiing, tennis, sailing, shooting, food and wine. Andrew is married and has two children.
