Your priorities, have your say
08 July 2011 to 16 September 2011
We will be hitting shopping centres countywide to find out what would make you feel more satisfied with policing where you live. So why not come along and cast your vote. Check out our dates and locations!
One of the roles of the Kent Police Authority is to find out what people want from their policing and where they would like to see their money being invested in the future. This year the Authority and Kent Police have set a target to improve the percentage of people who are satisfied with the policing in their area as part of our 2011/12 policing plan.
The best way to find this out is by listening to people’s views, understanding what drives public satisfaction and identifying the needs of local people.
Shoppers will be asked: 'How can we improve policing where you live?' The following categories have been identified by the Kent Police research unit as areas of interest. They will now be put to the test:
- Having more officers visible in the community
- Officers available via telephone
- Keeping promises (returning calls/carrying out police activity)
- Faster response times
- Dealing with more crime and anti-social behaviour
- Other
The road shows will give members of the public a chance to meet with Authority members and local police officers. All the results will be published and fed into next year’s policing plan.
