Kent Police Authority (KPA) ensures an efficient and effective police service. This includes setting targets for the police, deciding budgets, agreeing council tax payments, consulting on top priorities and appointing Chief Officers.

You can make a complaint against a Police Authority member or a Kent Police Chief Officer. Any compliment or complaint about Kent Police Officers or staff (other than Chief Officers) should be directed to the Professional Standards Department.

You can join Kent Police in a number of voluntary roles. Why not help monitor our custody cells? join as a Special Constable? or give a few hours a week to help in one of our police stations.


Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 allows you to get information held by government bodies, including Kent Police Authority. You can make a request for information from the Authority.
